Ok, I got a new phone on wednesday, picked up a Samsung Intensity 2 because a smartphone is way outside my budget. Well I put a few contacts in a group for mass-texting purposes, and it duplicated each of the contacts. So I had 2 of everyone in that particular group. I also couldn't delete the people that were in the group, or the group itself. Deleting the duplicate contact "deleted" the information for both duplicate entries, but the space for them was still there. I took it back to Verizon, the guy reset the phone, and when he went to pull the contacts back over again, the only contacts were the empty slots of the "deleted" duplicate numbers.

So brought my old phone in to Verizon and they tried plugging it in to transfer them not using the backup assistant. No dice. The guy tried it on 2 machines, but it just would not transfer the numbers. I'm seriously considering going back and demanding a new phone and refusing to pay the "restocking" fee since the phone is defective and therefore unsellable.

Can anyone give me any advice or tips or anything to avoid going back to the damn store for the 3rd time in 4 days?
