This question has me extremely worried.

I was wondering if any of you have had experience going from one asus motherboard to another without having to reinstall the damn OS.

I ask because i really want to upgrade for the Upcoming Bulldozer and not have to reinstall my OS's I have a dual boot with my current Motherboard Xp and 7 64 ultimate.

I figure since they are very similar to each other and the fact that the bulldozer will be compatible with my current motherboard, that i will not have any problems.

Your thoughts/advice

thanks

Don't be worried.
I went from a Gigabyte MA790x to a Crosshair III and didn't have much trouble.
Go into safe mode, and uninstall EVERYTHING. Driver sweep it a couple of times, then move to the new board.
You'll be fine once it all settles down again.

I use Driver Sweeper alot when removing old GPU drivers.

Ive never used it to uninstall everything before though.

Can you explain in detail what you uninstalled? DId you just go to device manager and uninstall everything one by one?

i want to know the best way of doing it so that my transition is a smooth as possible. REmember i have to worry about both XP and 7 64 ultimate.

Ok since the guy i responded to hasn't replied back,

Has anyone else ever went from one motherboard to another without having to reinstall the operating system? Preferably from the same manufacturer?
