Hey all, Im currently looking for a good monitor to go with my new PC but I have no clue what to get or whats good!

I have about $400 to spend and I would like it to be 1080p and have a 1MS response time. Anyone have any recommendations?

Don't look at response times. They are nothing but advertising lies.

If the manufacturer even bothers to test the monitor for them, they test gray to gray transitions. The only ones that really matter are larger transitions. On black to white transitions, or vice versa, most 2ms/1ms monitors would take 20ms or more.

No interest in 120Hz? Given your sig i'd be inclined for that over conventional 60Hz panels.

Something like this would be ideal.

TBH I dont have a clue what the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz will be
but I know I need a 1080p monitor and I dont need 3D and a 1-2ms response time would be ideal

120hz will make gameplay much smoother if your rig can produce above 60FPS.

Resposne times... read my post above. They are outright lies if you want it simple. Don't demand a monitor witha quoted response times, and don't quote response times.

But bigger lcds tend to have a little more input lag than the old 23/24º, google for low input lag panels and forget about the responsiveness time.

This is another myth.

The input lag on a panel depends on the individual panel, not on the size of the thing, or the panel technology.
