Wanting to reinstall windows but save program files - Page 2

ok next newbie question, i just swapped out my mobo for a new one (gigabyte x58a-ud5) and now my hard disk rating went from 7.3 to 6.9 any idea why?

Maybe driver conflict or ide mode enabled in the bios?

Any idea on how to fix this ? I assume if its at a lower rating there must be an issue causing it not to perform as well

Did you see if ahci was enabled in the bios? It needs to be.
did you re run windows experience index?
do you have the most up to date intel drivers?
Is your firmware up to date?

well I changed it to ahci in bios and then it blue screened before windows loaded

and im not sure if i have the most up to date intel drivers (i assume for the SSD)

And im also not sure about my firmware I'll have to see their website

If your O/S is Win7 the built in image program works very well. Just used it today to restore an image from a failed SSD.
