Is this normal?

Thread Starter
My Sunbeam twister 120 cools fine, but it doesn't cool very well. I have 35 degrees idle. and Like 45 at load. Is this just because of the thermal paste "breaking in?"

You could try reseating it. I don't know how good of a cooler that is or how you have what fans set up in your case but those temps sound OK to me. Only AS5 has a real 'burn-in' period AFAIK.

that sounds pretty good for an i5

what tim did you use?
ambient temps? but yeah 35 idle isn't bad.
Not bad. For a not-so-direct comparison, my i7 2600 idles averages 33C stock, max low 40Cs. Using Cooler Master 212 EVO and Artic Silver TIM.

edit: ambient temp ~24C

Ambient (room) temperature? What TIM are you using? Looks fine to me.
