Are there any gaming related benchmarks out there

I'd love to see some real show downs though with a consistent testing environment. Or I could try to reproduce those results myself.

I'll grab a few functional system and do my own testing, in a scientific way.

I can't keep up BTW with all the craziness, its just fun winding you guys up. Its actually pretty easy and its massively amusing.
Do what you like. I'm not wound up.

That was my 1st post in this thread, compared to your 28.

Yes this thread being the only BD thread you have ever posted in on OCN

The issue is that, as things currently look, a 32nm Phenom II x8 should actually be FASTER than Bulldozer.
Based off synthetic benchmarks, even if they are real the real world will be different.

Look at the max CPU temperatures, one core got to 55, the rest stayed 20c lower.

There's a software bug, plus Linx actually goes slower when you have HT on an Intel CPU, it may be the same for BD.

HT makes your Linx score lower due to (I think) cache thrashing, willing to bet that also happens to BD. (As well as a BIOS bug going from those temperatures)

BD doesn't have HT, there something in the design of the l1 l2 and l3 to stop that from happening.

it's probably a problem on the software reading the temperature or on the sensors/bios or something, people have being playing if this CPUs for a while and if it was something like the other cores staying at a lower clock they would have detected it,

I know BD doesn't have HT, but the threading and sharing concept may cause problems, like I was saying.

BD and Phenom II can have asynchronous clock speeds across cores, so one core may be going to 4.3Ghz or so, the others may still be at 2Ghz.

I know, but I also know that is fairly common to get bad temperature readings,
and that if the core clock was lower on 7 "cores" it could be easily detected,
also wouldn't at least 2 cores (1 module) always keep the same clock? or the same module will operate in 2 different clock speeds!?

.

Sure, if they screwed up the design, totally a potential problem.
