Oh why oh why am I posting this??

If you cant add anything constructive to a thread, and are just posting to be annoying, then such a particular poster has no intention in bringing any sort of positive input to the thread.

This in my definition is called trolling.

There is way too much of that going on, in the short time I have been here it is VERY clear to see who the culprits are.

The best thing is just to add them to the ignore list, in that way they can troll as much as they want.

But hopefully they would get reprimanded.

Dont know if that happens here at overclock.net

(By my own definition I could be trolling) But I think I am adding positive input to this thread!

I'm not saying anything will be a huge change in 2 days, I just think that since none of the leaks can genuinely be believed to be 100% accurate without a doubt that we should just hold our tongues as we simply don't know yet, and that is a fact if there ever was one.

Sure it might have been right, but it was equally as likely to be flawed. There are 2 sides to the coin.
So I guess we should just shut down all conversation and speculation about any product that has not actually been released yet? Why is it so wrong for people to have their own opinions on what the performance of BD is going to be? Why shut down debate?

I personally believe that BD is going to be a big disappointment for enthusiasts (both AMD and Intel). I base that on everything that I have seen and read over the past year (including the delay rumored to be performance-related, the numerous performance leaks, and AMD's over-the-top attempts to keep a tight lid on any discussion of performance). These are all circumstantial at best and I admit my opinion is pure speculation but why can't I voice it? You are free to disagree and I won't take offense...

Debate and healthy conversation is one thing, what happens here on OCN is another... I should have clarified that I was talking about the people that simply go too far... No biggie.

I still want to buy an 8150 and 990FX mobo just because I've never built an AMD rig before and I want to try something new. Plus it will be cool to have an eight-core processor no matter what!
Wonder if the quad cores will be better. Just because there's more cores doesn't mean it's efficient.

No, that's not it although Windows 8 will help.

What you and Balla have been doing in this topic was (mostly) discussing it.
What certain other members have been doing is just going "Just buy SB, it'll win no matter what!"

We know crap all in terms of facts right now and considering BD launches in 2 days you'd be idiotic not to wait that extra 2 days.

Also, if you start to call me an AMD fanboy, it may interest you to know that I have two AMD chips, my 555 and an Athlon XP, whereas I have many Intel chips, including but not limited to a 166Mhz Pentium MMX, An E2180, my E6700, my Core i3 370M and many Socket 478 Celeron Ds.

Exactly, it proves that either his chip has problems or more likely he hasn't got the proper AGESA code, anyone with any ounce of brains will wait for actual reviewers results, especially as they'll have had conversations with AMD about the performance which may yield much more information. Not that a certain member will admit that, he'll claim the 2500k is better without any realistic proof.

Any Dozer thread on here loses all objectivity after 5 postings....i have read thru some of the posts made by certain users on their profile page, when you see ALL posts they make are in BD threads and the comments they make are bashing rather than constructive...i am disappointed as to what OCN has become.

Dozer is out in a couple of days, for better or worse,i will be getting one..mainly for the IMC revision and 8 core crunching,i am willing to wait for optimized BIOS and coding for it.
I am a bit of a AMD fan,Intel for me is a bit obvious and 'paint by numbers',i prefer a more hands on OC'ing....
And BTW...since when has AMD been about stock clocks, stock NB etc? Not fast enough? OC till it is!

This is the kind of post I can respect. Everybody is entitled to their preference. I would of course hold off on recommending any processors right now until we can officially see what the performance of BD is in comparison to SB. I don't think it will be enough to change my recommendation from the 2500k for most users but we won't know for sure until there is a consensus of opinion out there.

I'm really looking forward to OCN members testing and comparing performance themselves. Should be some interesting results...

I base recommendations on application, the right CPU for the right job...games,buy an intel.....photoshopper? x6...all round pocket rocket? Llano...
The herd mentality is rife on this site at the present time, its not good for this hobby and should be stamped out.

Objectivity is king.

A lot of the intel guys should take a look at Balla,He is an Intel fan,but that hasnt stopped him owning several AMD CPU's and OC'ing them.
