Thread Starter
Can a 1866 be run at lower timings if set to 1600? I ask this because now i have an Athlon II X3 415e and i was thinking that i could lower the timings from 9-10-9-28 to 8-8-8-24 if set to 1600 and when i upgrade to Bulldozer, set it back at 9-10-9-28.

Its not always the case though. Some memory just does not like the timings lowered at all. Some can scream by at rated speeds with far better than advertised timings. Luck of the draw applies here just like it does in CPUs. Just aim for high quality memory that people tend to get results from!
