9800GT 1GB Question

Thread Starter
Hi, I play WoW, Starcraft 2 and leage of legends. I use a monitor right now at 1280x1024 and can play all of these games on Ultra/max and have no lag in FPS. I just bought a 1080p monitor and was wondering if I'll be able to play these games on max with a 9800gt and still get decent framerates?

If the answer is no then I would like to SLi my 9800gt but need to know if my PSU can handle it along with my i5 2500k. Its a Thermaltake TR2 500w with these specs.

+3.3V@24A, +5V@15A, +12V1@25A, +12V2@18A, -12V@0.5A, +5VSB@3.0A

Yes I know i could just buy a new DX11 Graphics card and be done with it, but not looking to spend that kind of cash atm. (I can get another 9800gt 1gb for 50 bucks from a guy here in town.)

Thanks!

Your i5 is going to run circles around dual 9800's. If you overclock it, then the difference will be more pronounced....

Two of those jokers on a 500w is pushing it.... I think Phaedrus' PSU calculator recommends a 550 for the configuration.

After upgrading from a Netburst CPU (Pentium D 935) to this i5, my graphics card was actually freed up to peform like it was meant too, (I actually heard the fan come on for the first time). So a single 9800gt should be fine and just OC it a little?
