budget case recommendations - Page 11

Thats a tough one... Both great cases.

I assume you will do the necessary mods on the PC-A05FN? The PC-A05FN is a great little project case.

Arc Midi is versatile out of the box.

I am going to say PC-A05FN because of the wealth of info here on OCN regarding that case. It would be fun joining the PC-A05FN club and discussing possible mods. Seeing other peoples' mods will give you ideas as well...all part of the fun of owning the PC-A05FN . Plus, it is lighter and smaller than Arc Midi which I prefer, but I'm not sure if that's important to you.

Arc Midi, because of its spaciousness and versatility for water and air cooling, might be the better case for multiple builds though. Something to consider...

My vote though is the PC-A05FN.

It's a really nice case. IIRC it's the smallest ATX case available. Plus, I can just stick my hand near the front exhausts in the winter to keep warm. I've loved every PC-A05N and PC-A05FN mod. It has nothing that pisses me off. Citrus was one of them. Props to Ikem. Here it is.

The only think I would have to do is drill a bottom intake near the GPU (would be for CPU if I got a A05N) in a A05FN. Maybe switch out the HDD rack too which brings up a question. The rack included seems to be a standard rack with two pieces of alu attached to it to make it compatible with the case. Is this true?

If you're looking for a great (budget) case, I'd say Shinobi hands down.

But if A05FN and Arc midi are the final two choices, I'd take the Lian Li over Fractal any time.

Not sure about the HDD rack.. I would have to check myself. However, I have seen the Citrus build and it is really nice! The A05FN looks amazing in white I think due to its simple design. The simplicity of a white box is beautiful in its own right, haha, but it still looks great in stock black as well. Being small, light, and aluminum just really opens up the options on the A05FN. I'm a sucker for small form factors which pack a punch. It is an ATX case, but still the smallest out there.

On top of that it is a Lian Li. We should all own a Lian Li once in our lifetime of builds, lol.

Anybody here know about the HDD rack?

I think I'll be keeping it black. I want it to match with the Mav Audio D1 I'm planning to get.

Did you ask A05N thread?

I am looking at pics on Lian Li site, but honestly I can't tell.
I'll leave it up to the people who have the case to give you the correct info.

If you get the answer you need about the HDD rack, I say go for it!
