Help me spend $2,500.00, and I'll send you a gift card - Page 6

For your work I would suggest a 2600K, 16gigs of ram, 1 video (580 would be great), an 256gb SSD and some mechanical hard drive for storage. That should suit you very well.

Here's where I'm at based on everyone's suggestion:

PC - $2083:
iBUYPOWER Configured PC

Video Cards - $1188:
2x GTX 580 SLI

Total Cost: $3271 (going quite a bit over my original budget, but think the SLI might be worth it running newer games at 2560x1440)

Likely buying something tomorrow like this or if there are any other suggestions on my configuration. Gift card to be sent tomorrow as well to the most help -- thanks again everyone.

Thoughts?

Dan

edit: I was also messing around with the configurator on cyberpower and got something like this which is pretty similar to the above: CyberPower Customized PC

Pretty much the same as what you have there, but cut some unnecessary parts and made some improvements: http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Intel...ator/c/3036149

Comes out to a little over $2500 (plus shipping). You're not going to find a better value unless you build it yourself. Didn't just go with minimum specs either: NZXT Tempest EVO, 2500K, 16GB DDR3-1600 RAM, Gigabyte UD4, 2x EVGA Superclocked GTX580s, and a reliable 1000W Silverstone PSU, Intel 320 120GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and Windows 7 Professional. I challenge anyone to come up with a better config. Anyway, best of luck to you OP, whatever you choose enjoy your new computer!

EDIT: And if you want to upgrade to a 2600K, it's just a little bit more in the configurator. I'd still advocate for you to build it yourself, but you can't beat this price for a prebuilt, with minimal effort on your part.

EDIT2: Seems that I've lost my config. If you're interested, send me a PM.

You seriously need to build it yourself. I did my first PC build after not touching a PC in 8 years and it took me literally 30 minutes to get it to the point Windows was installing.

is it worth buying two of these GTX 580's separate on NewEgg to get these?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127589

instead of the 2 unspecified GTX 580's they put in this build?:

I don't understand why 2 580's. You don't need 2 580's for photo work. Video maybe.

EDIT: Nvm, saw the gaming part.
