580 idle problem

Thread Starter
Hi all,
I just recently got my second gtx 580 and have it SLI'd and all that, however, i have a problem getting it to idle down when im not gaming. Im using MSI afterburner (overclocking applied at start up). when i uninstall MSI and restart and do a fresh install, it wil be idling at 100 mhz or something, and ill play BFBC2 for a little while and when im done it will idle back down, however when i restart my comp it will jump straight to 900/1800/2100 with hardly any gpu usage. is there any way i can fix this without getting rid of MSi afterburner? i reall dont want to go back to the dreaded NTune.

the reason it goes straight to 900 is because you have it to set at boot, give it a few minutes or something after a restart, don't do anything and see if it idles down after a little while.

did you have anything open at all, because even when I have my browser open my card won't clock down all the way, it will only clock down partially.

yes, it was 0% usage, maybe you could give me what version of MSI Afterburner your using and your version of nvidia drivers?
