[AI] AT&T announces record 200K iPhone 4S pre-orders in first 12 hours - Page 10

Walk into a mobile phone retailer and compare the iPhone to the Android phones. The iPhone has much better fluidity in its menu/webpage scrolling despite having inferior specs.

ICS 2.4 is supposed to remedy this problem for Android so that might not be as much of a peeve as it was before but still, the iPhone for the most part, looks like a much better phone than the Android phones when you have tried many hands-on.

Don't go around calling Apple customers "mindless". Most of the time, what people want is something that is easy to use (though Android is just as easy to use as iOS), easy on the wallet (because the top-end Android phones cost just as much as the iPhone) and easy on the eyes. I'm sure those are the same reasons why you bought your phone too no?

And yes, I must have a dual core phone with 4g speeds and a 4"+ hi res screen that can barely fit in my pocket in order to update my facebook status, retweet @justinbieber and text my friends about the latest gossip

Either way there are quad core Androids coming out early next year that will destroy the iPhone 4S. (and Nexus Prime, Samsung Galaxy S2, etc.. so what is your point? ) The SGS2, Photon, and EVO 3D probably are already significantly better than the 4S also. (definitely not in the GPU department, that's for sure) This is just speaking in terms of hardware, the only possible argument that iOS is better than Android OS would be for simplicity. Even then Android OS is not difficult to learn.
Fixed And what do you mean by internal documents? From where?

I totally read this thread's title as "AT&T announces record 2600K iPhone 4S..."

Now that would be a phone worth having, albeit a little toasty and dismal battery life.

No, Apple can sell any device, good or bad, put the Apple logo on it, and it will fly off the shelves. Apple has the uncanny ability to get people to wait out a month in advance in front of an Apple Store just to buy an $800 iPad they never used. That is brand loyalty.

Apple has conditioned people to praise and admire every Apple product. Even the horribly, ill-conceived Magic Mouse still has people buying them. Apple is the paradigm of all marketing.

We are the helpless fish and Apple has lure, hook, and sinker. Apple has immense power. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

The 4S is significantly improved in every area not just "cpu, camera, siri". It's also one of the top smartphones, plus it leads in graphics performance. We'll see soon enough how good the 4S is (camera, video, CPU, GPU, Siri, dual antenna, RAM, etc.) when reviews of the 4S come out -- I'm looking forward to Anandtech's.

Do the reviewers get the smartphone early and then release it on launch day? Or will we have to wait :O

Maybe with other smartphones, but I really have a striking suspicion that Apple has not released any devices for review earlier than the release date being the 14th.
