vram is negligable even at 1600p(and even less @ 1080 and 720). why waste the extra money. show me where 2gbs of vram saved the 6950 from being outperformed by a couple of 460s with 768mb of vram

and exactly how do you know how the final release is going to scale?

Asus makes great products so does xfx and evga, check into reviews of the products before you make the leap.
basing a buy off of reviews is ignorant, the vertex 3s for example, if you go to a review site like guru3d or hardocp they have great reviews on them. but they dont take into acountability that those devices were handpicked by the manufacturer to be evaluated. none of the retail stores take into acountability all those that dont go through proper procedure to prevent static damage to their devices, did you? ive had over $9000 worth of hardware on my desk over the last month and nothing i had was defective, im not saying that using an antistatic mat/wrist band saved me from the trouble, but did it hurt? and just for the record, coming from someone who has delt with asus(two laptops, a monitor, and one gtx 460), they has horrible customer support. anytime you call them about a problem with 'their product' their procedure is to ask you 100 questions until they finally blame you and refuse to back their warranty, evga is great, dont know about xfx.

on a side note, youll notice ignorant complaints about stuff that is clearly marked on the products page at the manufacturers site. for instance, guys on newegg with a "5 egg" technical level complaining that their single gtx 580 wont run three screens, hmmm i wonder if theyre all experts because of their technical knowledge(or lack there of)
