im on an extreme budget, will this "play" battlefield 3 - Page 3

something to think about, its a 500$ pricetag and it has charts to show its performance.

Why are you spending $400 on a build that does not have a quad core in it!?
I highly suggest really revisiting the balance. Take the case and PSU I suggested and buy from the retailers I suggest (splitting the retailers will often save you money) and you can get a much better deal. You're being seriously ripped off with that hard drive, you're paying $11 more for half the space; the suggested 500GB on NCIX costs $30 shipped (with a >$50 order) and is a deal that trounces all others.

That tom's hardware list is skewed IMO. Why is there no AM3+ mobo, generic RAM, a measly 500GB HDD, and a 6870 when $520 can fit a 560 Ti PC?
That's right, it's sort of an extremeity, but you can build a decent PC with a GTX 560 Ti for $520:

NEWCUSTOMER10 coupon - $10 off [Newegg]

Tom's hardware combo cost: $519 + $11 shipping = $530 shipped
My combo cost: $525 shipped.
Outperforming Tom's hardware's PC selection for $5 less. With a better PSU (the Volta actually can be rated for 80+ if it were sold at its 500W constant rating, just isn't ratified for it), a better video card, better RAM, and a more expandable AM3+ socket motherboard. The CPU is no less overclockable. Let's also not forget the $35 rebate from Galaxy that returns with a reduced 2 week time thanks to no-wait service.

Cost would be even better with this recertified PNY 560 Ti...

again, thats really $602 with win7, i suppose now would be a good time to announce that im turning 16 at the end of the month and i have to pay for this myself lol and part-time at the town municipality isn't pulling in a lot of dough. i might use some of those pieces though

now that i announced im a teen i suppose everyone will now ignore this thread cuz you think i don't know anything.

^ I'm as old as you are
For best results a ~$400 build with split retailers, and grabbing the OS at DiscountMountain, may be your best choice. May also be able to get a student discount somewhere.

it will work fine... but change your ram and cpu to little bit higher ^^
