My thermal paste came in and tried to reapply it. Turned my comp on and went on for a sec and went off. I tried lookin if I put a lot of the paste and I did a bit and I have a tiny bit on the gold pin section. Any fix?!

I cleaned it off now using q-tip and a dab of alcohol. I'm scared to put it back on but mobo is still good with the LEDs on it for ram check, gfx etc. Any idea?

As long as you used 91% or better Ispropyl Alcohol and it left no residue, then you should be fine.

Is that 55C your load temp or idle temp. Also how are you getting that temp, bios, real temp, speed fan or what?

Ignore idle temps and don't go by what's in BIOS ("CPU Temp").

You need to be concerned with "Core Temp" under load.

See my guide for more information.
