My fan is freaking loud...and i want to know if there is any way i can make it more quite?
im not sure if its the fan, but its a loud humming noise, maybe i can make a video tape or something about the irritating noise, i can hear it in the living room when my door is open and my computer stays on...

Have you added a resister to it to lower the speed or maybe it's dirty and dust build up is causing unwanted vibrations I.E Noise.

the above answer is not technically true, if it has always been loud as Laptop fans tend to be then its probable just cause they used a cheap fan to cool it. If it is making funny noises or continuously getting louder then you have an issue.

Try your BIOS settings as well, there may be a setting where you can change fan speeds.

Are you using the stock AMD fan included with your Phenom chip?

The stock HSF for my PII x4 955 BE was way too loud for normal tasks, so I replaced it with the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 Rev.2 (paid ~$20 USD for it on eBay at the time).

It's much quieter than the stock fan, and provides cooler temperatures as well (idle 35C if my house is cool, idles 40C if warm)

x2

My old PII's stock fan was obnoxious too, completely replacing it with an aftermarket HSF is your best bet.

I had an issue like this one time, and it was due to dust build up. The whole heatsink and fan was CLOGGED. I hadn't dusted it out in about 3 years haha. Did you check and make sure it's fairly clean? Also, what kind of fan is it?

It's not dust, it's just the way the fan is. It's seriously obnoxious.

Get speedfan and decrease fan speed to like 50% if you want it to be quiet. And then buy an aftermarket cooler.
