My Windows copy is 100% authenticated and genuine.

Starting to get frustrated. I had SLI working with 280.26 I think it is. Then after selecting a 4.7GHz bios save, I reboot into an error message "Your screen is not currently connected to an Nvidia gpu"... So I uninstall, run DriverSweeper and Driver CleanerPro in safemode, and reinstall 285.38. No SLI all I have is set Physx options. I uninstalled and driver cleaned in safe mode again, then installed 280.26 and NO SLI. Tried express installing 285.38 OVER 280 series... No dice, no SLI!

What am I doing wrong here? I was so excited... :/

Were my problems started by installing both cards at the same time?

Do I need to install one, install drivers, shut down and install 2nd card, reboot?

Ok Done. Got SLI working again on 280.26, restart and boom "You are currently using a display not attached to a Nvidia GPU".... Well what else am I on then?

Looking in device manager it says both cards have a problem, Code 43. I'm trying to find info on this, but no dice.

I'm going to have to probably 1) try to switch cards in slots, turn sli bridge around, 2) check each card individually, 3) try a new windows install, try 275.33 drivers. I'm skeptical that it's a hardware issue, because yesterday before trying to load 285.38 I was able to run 3DMark11, 06 and Heaven Benchmark with no issues and competitive scores...

if anyone has any input I'd appreciate it

When I SLI'd I didn't uninstall drivers at all - the people telling you to do so are wrong.

1. Put first card in. Install newest (whichever you want) driver. Restart, then shut down.
2. Install second card.
3. Boot up, windows will detect that your machine is SLI capable and ask if you want to enable it. It will be a little popup in the lower right hand corner.
4. ????
5. Profit.

Hope that helps.

you are plugged into your Nvidia GPU right....not the IGP? just checking

hmmmm
install drivers again......if the popup thingie happens again....install the drivers without rebooting, reboot and repeat

if nothing works....then try 1 card in, install, 2nd card in.....enable SLI

Odd. The only time I've personally seen error 43 was when there was a physical defect in one of my cards that was causing instability.

It seems highly unlikely that both of your cards would just randomly fail though. Perhaps its a mobo issue? Do you have the latest BIOS, chipset driver and Intel ME installed?

Latest everything is installed. I am running a Modded Beta bios however, so reverting to an official release bios is on my to do list.

^^ Thats EXACTLY what Im thinking. The only time I touched my first card, was to slide the SLI bridge on it, and it was tested 100% fine before. Ive even ran 3dmark and Heaven with both cards like I said when it WAS working, no issues no overheats, nothing. Its only after I tried 285.38 Beta drivers that the S hit the fan. The main underlying issue that started this was even with two cards installed, and visible to all software and windows showing both, Nvidia Control Panel would not show SLI options, all I had was Physx, and I never got a popup saying Hey yo,u can do SLI. Ive read that Code 43 has been traced to hardware, drivers, OR Windows components such as updates, which my machine is fully updated. I will be Secure Erasing my SSD and Reinstalling Windows with barebones drivers, and see what I can come up with.

After that, ill be switching the cards slots, and testing the cards individually. My hunch is that I either have a funky 285 driver download, or I botched the initial setup and there are lingering issues even a Driver Sweeper wont fix.

Thanks for the input guys, please keep it coming!

Not connected to an Nvidia GPU... that's oddly specific. Are you sure you aren't plugged into an IGP slot or something? That consistent of a message from the driver report doesn't just... randomly happen.
