It is really funny to watch people defend either AMD or Intel, on one hand you have AMD folks discrediting the previews hoping that somehow the reviews will reveal a brilliant chip that AMD has mysteriously kept under wraps till the last possible minute and on the other hand you have the Intel fanatics vowing to the previews proving that their choice of Intel chip is the best thing ever inside a PC.

I wonder how many of you actually have any stocks in these companies, I wonder how many AMD fanatics will buy BD if it is indeed a failure as previewed and not do the logical step and purchase Intel and I wonder how many pro-Intel people will not do the rational thing an swap to AMD if the time comes and AMD produces a better chip with much better value than alot of the overpriced intel hi end stuff.

I have owned chips from both manufacturers depending on their price/performance and what I want the PC I am building to do and will continue to do so in the future and it is the same story concerning nvidia/ati going back to the very first voodoo 3dfx card I purchased. Becoming a fanatic for any company when you are just a small guy building a PC for work/leisure is just something that is seriously not rational.

Grow the hell up and look at the big picture !

Well this is a little saddening, does the 8150P at least perform as well as a 2500k? If it does, that means it shouldn't bottleneck higher end cards or crossfire/SLI set ups like Phenom II is sort of known for, right?

More info, from Lab501 comments directly:

Why does Lab501 get to break NDA?!
In order to break an NDA you have to sign one first...

Your power consumption graph on page 14 has the colors reversed showing the 8150 using 93.12watts and the 2600 using 129.72, although you indicated the correct values in the paragraph bellow.
Correct, we just fixed that, thank you for noticing, and also thank M.Beier for that!

I suppose there is also a small chance that all the final BIOS updates for the BD won't be released until the day of the launch
Actually no, there is no chance, because you need reviewers to have time to test this stuff before publishing a review. Nobody makes reviews in one day...

How can Bulldozer be this bad???
I know!!! Trust me, we retested many times, because we found this hard to believe even if the results unveiled under our eyes. We checked everything countless of times, and still get the same results. Unfortunately, this really is how Bulldozer is performing, and that makes me as sad as any other enthusiast in this industry!

Now the saddest thing is not only the performance, but also the way in which AMD tries to manage this. I heard from a little birdie that some folks at AMD will start calling press tomorrow morning to ask them how reviews are going and try to do some damage control (this reminds me of Nvidia calling press before GTX480 launch). Actually many of the press guys I talked to are a little bit puzzled and don't really know how to approach this situation. From my point of view it is pretty clear, the truth (no matter how much it hurts) is the only way.
Wow.

I own 2 chips currently right now from both companies. 2 Q-series chips from Intel 1 Phenom II from AMD and one Athlon from AMD (not counting the core 2 duo in my MBP, the AMD Athlon in my HP laptop, and the intel Atom in my HP Netbook).

You can even look at my previous posts and you can see that I was willing to buy BD. But I'm realistic about it and if everything is saying it is a poor chip both credible and non-credible sources, then I know I'll go with Intel the next round and get a i5-2500k or an i7-2600k.

Your 955 at 4GHz won't bottleneck even 2x6870s. Just because you get a few less FPS in a processor-limited program than someone with a better CPU does not mean it's a "bottleneck"...

Ja well.I think AMD should just stick to what they perfected now and that is APU's.I have both a i5 2300 and Llano and not that i am a fanboy but Llano cuts the cake for me!!.Last week a throw any 3D game to it and with no problem at meduim to high settings and the most times 4 timea AA and it just plays it!!

This, why do people expect so much out of BD? It's just the same old stuff.
