I wonder how many of you actually have any stocks in these companies, I wonder how many AMD fanatics will buy BD if it is indeed a failure as previewed and not do the logical step and purchase Intel and I wonder how many pro-Intel people will not do the rational thing an swap to AMD if the time comes and AMD produces a better chip with much better value than alot of the overpriced intel hi end stuff.
I have owned chips from both manufacturers depending on their price/performance and what I want the PC I am building to do and will continue to do so in the future and it is the same story concerning nvidia/ati going back to the very first voodoo 3dfx card I purchased. Becoming a fanatic for any company when you are just a small guy building a PC for work/leisure is just something that is seriously not rational.
Grow the hell up and look at the big picture !
I own 2 chips currently right now from both companies. 2 Q-series chips from Intel 1 Phenom II from AMD and one Athlon from AMD (not counting the core 2 duo in my MBP, the AMD Athlon in my HP laptop, and the intel Atom in my HP Netbook).
You can even look at my previous posts and you can see that I was willing to buy BD. But I'm realistic about it and if everything is saying it is a poor chip both credible and non-credible sources, then I know I'll go with Intel the next round and get a i5-2500k or an i7-2600k.Edited by matty0610 - 10/9/11 at 8:58am
