[lab501.ro]First Bulldozer PREVIEW - Page 4

17s pi @ 5ghz is right in line with all other leaked pi benchs so far as far as scaling is concerned.... (save me that superpi is useless, its simply a reference for comparison)

One thing is NB clocks which are kept at stock... I wonder how much performance 3.2ghz NB would yield.

Anways, lab501 is a credible website that i've checked out before. Never any FUD or faked stuff.... No reason for them to fake reviews ~1 week prior to launch just to lose all their subscribers ~1 week later for being a shady tech source. Let's be realistic.

BD basically sucks for a brand new desktop cpu. Good server chip no doubt. I'll be going IB.

Wow, every rumor or fake benchmarks I've seen, is that Bulldozer isn't going to do well. Kinda sad.

Yup.
At this point, im inclined to think they aren't faked.
In the end we have to wait and see, but it seems a bit far fetched that this is some global burn campaign.

Depends on who sets the fire. But lets for a moment pretend that there was a motive.

does seem odd that AMD's first new arch in years, is getting the burn treatment doesn't it ? I mean we have been hearing about bad benchmakrs, crappy performance for months.

Every indicator about who has a CPU in hand however, has been contra to this. None of the respected people in the industry seem to have them.

So why would someone burn AMD.

Outside of that, I have no idea or expectation of how bulldozer should perform. But the sting of k7,k8 likely won't ever rub off.

Sounds like the perfect medium of opinions here. Honestly I hope Bulldozer can pull some miracles. Despite my conclusions, I still have high hopes!

they spent how many years making this thing? and this is the best they could do? come on AMD, what are you thinking? why cant you pull another Athlon 64? Back then AMD was the top dog, and in 2006 because AMD just sat around and did nothing with the Athlon 64 tech other than adding DDR2 to it they lost tons of the market and lost the performance crown they had.
