2600K Overclock Issue HEEELPP!!!

Thread Starter
First time posting, I am attempting to overclock my cpu and have read thru Biohazrd's guide which was excellent. But I still have some issues. I tried using the same settings that he provided pics of but I still am unsure if I am doing it right. I am 34 years old and may not have the overclocking lingo down so bare with me please.

I have the MSI GD-55 B3 rev. running bios ver. 1.9
I have the intel 2600k and have been running flawlessly at 4.2 with just a simple increase in the multiplier. Everything has been on auto except for my memory (which I have no idea how to overclock), I am using the Corsair Vengenace 1600 2x4gb.

I will provide some screenshots of my current specs in a link below. I realize from reading the posts that not all boards and cpu's are going to be able to hit the same numbers with the same settings, but I was hoping to get 4.6-4.8.

I have the H50 watercooling on my cpu with the ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound applied and I use to enermax 120mm fans in a push pull method on my case. I also slightly modified the case to allow for my radiator to be mounted on the outside of the case with one fan on each side(thinking the cooler outside air might cool it down more).

Hope I am not providing to much info, but I want everyone to understand I am new at this and also know what hardware I am working with.

Ok guys and gals, Below will be a link or links to some pics and screenshots I took so you guys will know where I stand and what I need to do for a 24/7 rock solid build.

The primary use of this machine is gaming, dvd/bluray ripping, and general surfing the web. Oh it also streams hd and regular video to my pc in the living room.

As soon as I start prime 95 using the following settings my pc crashes and restarts immediately.

Here are my settings in my bios, see anything I have wrong or should change?

http://s287.photobucket.com/albums/l...k%20Overclock/

I will be tinkering all day here trying to figure this out any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Your photo link is broken, make sure to use the "direct URL" and then use insert image or just link it that is fine to.

Check this guide. I just moved from a Q9550 to a 2500k and I'm in the process of OC'ing it. I haven't read the guide that you have but the one I linked makes it very simple. Make sure to check out the links towards the bottom about PLL voltages to.

The terminology for each setting might be a little different so cross reference with this guide for your board.

Also, welcome to OCN!

I think the problem might be that you have the photobucket homepage running your board rather than your BIOS. Naturally this imposes bandwidth limits which would cause P95 (or many games for that matter) to crash.

Once that photo is fixed I'll throw in my other $.02
