1090T Voltage Question... - Page 3

I also have the 1090T but I can only overclock it to 3.6 because of my motherboard. (At least thats what I'm blaming it on) With 3.6 on all 6 cores I can have the vcore set to 1.315 in the bios and as soon as I boot into Windows it is already at 1.35 which sounds kind of ok but if I run Prime95 the vcore shoots up to 1.4, if I go for a heavier overclock such as 3.8 I will set the vcore to 1.35 in the bios and it is around 1.39 at idle using cpu-z (or aida64) If I continue to put a full load on it with Prime95 the vcore once again shoots up and reaches about 1.44-1.45 and thats just wayyyy to high for me to be comfortable with. If I lower the vcore in the bios Prime ends up erroring out due to what I'm assuming is the vcore fluctuating. If I could get the vcore to stay where I set it I could throw a higher frequency on because the temps are fantastic on the thubans and I think mine is about 41 C. after a whole night of stress testing (at 3.6 and 1.4) Also, Cool and quiet, c1e, spread spectrum, and all that other junk is disabled, unfortunately this board doesnt have an option for Load Line Calibration or anything similair.

I think it may also just be something the Thubans do (raise vcore) because I had a PII 955 and I never noticed it doing that. Hope this helps or gives you some ideas.

regarding my bios, I have the new IUEFI or something along those lines, lol.
I just want it to be defaulted at 3.6ghz all the time since it's capable of doing so.

I'm a noob when it comes to OCing lol.

3.6 GHz is usually pretty easy to get with the default voltage, if its not Prime95 stable then bump up your vcore 1 notch. I also suggest bumping your NB multiplier about 2 notches and NB voltage if necessary.
