Hello!!

this time i need a five to eight hundred dollar build for dad. he wants to use a flight simulator and play call of duty and things like that. i believe he prefers amd over intel and for gpu he likes both nvidia and amd(ati).

^ Uh... no. Why is everyone suggesting prebuilts?
$850 + $28 shipping ($878 shipped) can get you a top end FX-6100 build with GTX 560 Ti, SSD, better AM3+ motherboard, better PSU, better case.... everything better basically. Low end prebuilts aren't really good deals to begin with, but the high end ones are rip offs.

Here's a quick parts list on newegg since I don't know where you Aussies order from.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Pu...umber=21236687

$620 USD, no monitor or operating system. If you wish to upgrade to bulldozer probably should grab ddr3 1800 ram.

For your budget you're better off getting an i5 from Intel at the moment or waiting for BD to release.

Because we know what's top end from BD before it's even released and benchmarked right?

For all we know the FX might be inferior to i5s in gaming.

I built the machine in my sig for 500 bucks (Got the OS for free, so 600 if you add that in). It isn't perfect, but it should give you an idea of how to not get ripped off by buying a prebuilt computer. From my experience if you want to overclock, you might want a different power supply / motherboard, but I spent 50 on the psu and 75 on the mobo, so you can definitely find suitable alternatives at a similar price point. This is what I spent, so keep your eyes open for deals:

Phenom 955 - 105
Mobo - 75 (of current boards, I like the Asrock Extreme 4 970 for a budget AMD board (it is 110+shipping at Newegg) Note that it is actually a 990x chipset since it supports 8x 8x on the pci express lanes, so if you ever plan to crossfire this is a nice feature.
4GB RAM - 30
Radeon 6870 - 150
HDD - 45
Power Supply - 55 (came with free optical drive)
Case - 45

Total: 540 (with Better Motherboard) 505 with same motherboard.

Edit: Missed the part where you said you were in Australia. I'm not sure how the prices on these parts are over there, but I would guess it should still be far under 800.

He wants an AMD system.
Where is your proof about the inferior statement?
