[I wasn't sure were to make this thread so im sorry if I made it in the wrong section]

Im getting this:

[With a i7 920 and 6gb of ram]
and I was wondering is this this the best config for that amount?
If you can tell me a better config or any advice I would appreciate it greatly as this will be my first build.

*Must be on pccasegear.com or any sites that are trustworthy and ship to aus*

Thanks,
Josh

I personally would get the 6950 setup over the 560 TI SLI myself, also I'd get the hyper 212+ for a cooler. I wouldnt get such an expensive motherboard either.

also do you already have the CPU and RAM? because I would recommend the 2500K over the 920.

dont get a Blue hard drive, get the black one, blues are meant for data and are slower.

I have the MSI gtx 560 ti hawk. I can only say I wish I bought a friggen gtx 570. You're gonna hit and go over that 1GB video ram playing the newer games. I also notice you are trying to SLI it. Why not settle for a gtx 580 and SLI that later on?

THe western digital black caviar is faster than the blue version. a little louder though. I also have it.

Do you not want an SSD? At least get one for the OS. Makes your computer have that "real fast feel" to it.

Any reason for that expensive motherboard?

Hey mate, probably not in the best place, but should be fine since its an nvidia card build .

So here are my thoughts...

First, have you seen the 560ti's with 2gbs of ram? If you ever SLI for surround or simply want to push your res and have that card keep up having more VRAM is never a bad thing .

Second, why a 920? I see no reason to buy a 1366 CPU right now with how well the 2500k performs. For the price you just can't beat it.

Lastly, 900 Watts is WAY overkill for a single gpu build, like, WAY overkill. I'd check out something in the 600W range, unless you plan to SLI down the road? Even if you do, I'm pretty sure a 650 is plenty for that card... I'd have to check tho .

So to summarize, 2gb 560ti, 1155>1366, 900W overkill .

EDIT: Sorry just noticed the quantity of GPU's!!! I would go with a solid 650W PSU still, but either way, go with a 2gb version of the card or perhaps something like a gtx 570?

Good luck!

What is wrong with overkill on the psu? They are most efficient around 40-60% load anyway and it leaves room fro upgrades later. I would go for a 580 gtx and sli it later.

There isn't anything "wrong" with overkill on a psu... your choice if you want to waste money .

Yeah. I wouldn't recommend downgrading a PSU unless you have budget problems. Just you don't need something like 1500w.

I was going to try n keep some parts from my old pc but screw it! lets see if my parents are feeling extra generous, haha.
Heres the new build:

-Whats a good mobo for SLI?
What do you think/improvements?
Keeping the 900w so that i can go SLI later on.
Could someone make the best PC possible for as cheap as possible? ((~$1500)Nvidia)

I'd ditch the 580 and get the superclocked 570 instead, especially if you plan on sli. That adds up to $320 savings, and really an overclocked 570 isn't that much slower than a 580.

MSI 570 looks even better, if you are ok with buying MSI.

Edit: you have a triple channel ram kit in your cart, 1155 is dual channel.

What psu is needed for sli 570's?
Edit: The brand doesn't matter to me, what matters is that its the best for the money.
So in your opinion the MSI 570 is the best?
