And you're talking to someone who mastered flying using an Attack 3 in Battlefield Vietnam!
Well, they unlocked the map last weekend as it was the last few days of the BETA, and I had no lag, and I never got kicked off the server.

And trust me, it had nothing to do with the Metro map, Caspian Border makes you feel like you are actually playing a Battlefield game.

SLI 580s required!??!

Sounds like yet another poorly optimized console port to me.

It better look ***STUNNING*** if it's gonna require dual 580s -- as in the best looking game to date.

I don't care how much "stuff" goes on at once.

Not a fan of SLI/Crossfire myself anyway. I consider it a marketing hype to force you to spend £700 on graphics cards because £350 just isn't enough...
Even if BF3 needed it, I wouldn't go for it.

Yea.

And with all the Nvidia beta driver updates SPECIFICALLY for BF3, while BF3 reps are suggesting sli 580s, I'm sure it's mutually beneficial to both companies if ya get my drift.

it doesn't need sli 580s, they would be nice, but, if people are going off beta frames per second, get this
so someone with a 570 getting 47 frames and the someone with sli 580s getting 54fps its more than likely that the drivers haven't really been gotten up to scratch for sli, even the beta drivers are exactly that,
also i saw the interview when they aparrently said u need sli580s, thats a lye, he said in response to the question "so should be safe with sli 580's?" and the dice guy repleied with "yes sli 580s should be safe " (general gist) yes u will be safe with sli 580s not need them

so we dont need to keep getting angery about it, it comes up in just about every BF3 thread around,
i really beleive if u have around a gtx560 then we will be fine, ie the recommended spec's

so when the game comes out we will be able to play it, no prob and if we want to crank the settings up further than what we are getting we buy a card then, not just guess,
granted i we good out and buy the best card we can afford that is the best thing to do, quad-sli 580 sounds great, but i dont think we should be putting fear into people with lower end rigs that they cant play the game,
half my mates are going ot be playing this on a laptop (pitty) but it will run, prob low settings but **** it beats console

ps. and yes a sli 580 may bee needed for three screens and then turning up the AA, but for most of us on 1080p ....... all just guess work till the game actually comes out, then still patching will make it run better, BFBC2 just got a patch to make it use less computer power with the chat bar and other stuff as there where some mistakes in the code, so the same will prob happen with BF3 it will definitely improve over time

What marketing hype? First of all, many times you actually SAVE money by going SLI on two lesser cards rather than buying a single card. Secondly, more performance is more performance and SLI lets you go farther than any single card can. Where's the marketing hype? That's just math.
