I agree with most of what you say; lower PDW damage, slower DMRs, and SKS boost. However, LMGs need less recoil and they'll be perfect. As of right now, it's nearly impossible to have solid suppression on a 10mx10m target and anything further than 100m, even prone supported. Shotguns are fine and dominate at destorying single targets within 10m, which is what I believe DICE wants. Rockets...do we really need another Carl Gustav?

Having said that, it is an accurate weapon that I have trigger time with. It is accurate out to about 150 yards. The .45 is really dropping after about 120 yards and loses most its lethality, and would be worthless against armor.

The UMP is a handful on Fully Automatic it is a pistol cartridge in a subgun, but the subgun is all polymer and actually has more recoil than you would expect. The UMP is blowback has less parts and is therefore cheaper.

Considering the power differences between the 9mm vs .45ACP and bullet weights, I'd say relative recoil is significantly less. That said, I've only had ~1500 rounds with the UMP and ~5K with the MP5. I'm rather shocked I didn't see the MP5 in BF3. Sure it's an 'older' design, but so are the stoner rifles and kalashnikov variants.

I agree 100% on the PP2K. It's rather silly that it can do anything past 25 yds.

It's also slightly upsetting that your aim isn't shifted at all when you get hit. Letting people have the jump on others would probably reduce balance issues. Having better spacial awareness is something that should probably be rewarded more than simply having enough points to get better guns.

I have to agree with this. After using PP2000 I stoped using all other guns because i was able to get 2x more kills with it. So overpowered.

The shotguns are absolutely terrible in BF3. Shot a guy pointblank in the face twice and he didn't die with the DAO-12. I finally got a kill with it when I snuck up on a guy and plugged him three times. The damn handguns are more powerful than the shotguns.

Shotguns need to be boosted at close range for sure.

The Ump and PP2000 ARE overpowered.

But so far, my fav has been the M14A. That gun is just too sick.

Ya. I would still take an MP5 any day over the UMP. Nothing runs like an MP5. I find the MP5 easier to stay on target with. I dont like the ergo of the UMP as much.

I'm convinced that none of you who have said that LMGs need to be buffed have used them with optics + feather-firing (i.e. very, very, very small bursts). IMO they need less muzzle climb for enhanced suppression and lower accuracy past 50-100m. To each his own, though. In the end, it's DICE's game.
