Cool thanks

ramdisk / firefox/ thunderbird/ delphi / multiple libreoffice windows / notepad++/aimp/ a custom profiler/ + 1 virtual machine (linux) w/ dev environment + irc too

Additionally: visual studio / photoshop/maya/ fractal terrains / audio encoder (freac) / desktop search engine for my ton of documents

What is cool is too have all the required tools launched at the same time (i use 3 monitors + 3 virtual desktops) and this is a real luxury compared to my previous rig w/ 2 gigs. There's less time wasted by closing/launching and no need of virtual memory. The RAMdisk (I use 4 Gb) is a real plus too as a temp/cache/ working space, i use it to lessen the write load on my system disk.
On big load times, including md5 checking/updating on the archives, the machine peak to 15gb, and even if the X6 isn't a killer beside the Intel line it do the job.

That's all.
It's maybe an option, but when you use it in a multitasking way you never go back, of course only for gaming + some work it's not of much use but the most important thing is to have the choice

Few questions.
Does SB-E support pcie 3.0 I know the board does, but is the actual SB-e chip needed to enable pcie 3.0
and is there any nf200 chips on any x79 board for 4 way sli or is it because its already pcie 3.0 enabled that it doesnt matter since pcie 3.0 x8 = pcie 2.0 x16

Concerning the PCIe 3.0 the only thing that I read was that 3.0 is implemented in chipset but will need a IB-E cpu to enable it, the other thing is that there's no 3.0 lane in the current X79 chipset.

That's my 2 cents of knowledge about this.

The info is still under NDA I think, but what they did do was get rid of the PCI-e uplink from the chipset to the CPU. Whether or not the integrated PCI-e controller is 3.0-capable on SB-E or not is still in question, I think.

The Intel X79 board that they are releasing to coincide with the SB-E release says it has PCI-e 3.0 support, so I would assume it will be available with SB-E. But, you know what usually happens when you assume.
