I believe only SB-E will offer 6 cores, which would be the main reason most people purchase SB-E.

For mainstream users it doesn't make much sense to buy SB-E, only enthusiast overclocker (who want great bench scores), VMs, Folders/BOINCers and workstations will make good use of SB-E.

I think it's funny how they put the 2500K in the "Mainstream" category. I can't find anything to utilize this thing over 40% usage besides folding lol

You do know that Ivy comes out pretty soon, and that Intel is not going to let it beat SBe clock for clock that badly, that would be suicide, so they will prob limit IB.

BUT SBe users with X79 can later use IB-E.

NCIX (canada) just posted some price, not officially but when you do a search witgh "X79" it display the MSI board prices:

GD45: $276.64 GD65: $319.20 GD65 FRIO ADV (no clue of what is the difference, the 2 GD65 displayed at NCIX are 8 ram slots): $348.54

I'm waiting to see how much they will sell the GB UD5, about these price i suppose, based on these prices and what Don Karnage found on other sites.
