There are some conflicting reports from different early sources where some show Ivy runs hot and some normal temperatures.

The consensus is under 1.15v and 4.5GHz is not going to be any problem.

The extreme end is showing predictions Ivy will run hot. Perfomance wise regardless of temp it seems Ivy has 4-5% perfomance over Sandy. If your already in a Sandy upgrading wouldn't be worth it. Unless you want to take advantage of PCIe 3.0 for multiple GPU's with greater bandwidth.

I'm going Ivy regardless as I'm not an extreme over clocker with my CPU. I think from what I've rad even both over clocked Ivy will be slightly better than Sandy.

Personally I can't wait for tests after release because bought my Z77 mobo a few weeks back and have to see if it works before 30 days. I thought the Z77's would go OOS before Ivy release. Jumped the gun.

If you can wait then see what real reviews have to say.

Sheza, there are also the choices of 3820 and 3930K as well if you're feeling "superhuman". wink.gif

So any word on whether or not this 23rd launch is paper or physical? If it's physical... I'm ordering from the egg that morning.

Projected PC:

Gigabyte Z77-UD5H
G.SKILL beastly RAM of some sort, some where around 2000mhz i'm assuming, 16gb of it.
7970 (680 availability is terrible, and they dont perform better under water which makes me sad frown.gif )
128gb Crucial M4
i7-3770k
Corsair 850W (planning for eventual second 7970)

Dual bay res, xspc raystorm CPU block, EK full cover GPU block

Disappointed meaning it's a paper launch? Not a physical?
