Some help choosing a laptop.

Thread Starter
So my friend needs a laptop ( light gaming ) , and I have been looking at these 3 laptops:

1st:
HP pavilion G6-1201ey

2nd:

HP Pavilion G6-1100sa

3rd:

ACER Aspire AS5253 15.6" LED, AMD Dual Core E300, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, AMD Radeon HD6310, Windows 7 Home Premium

There are also some laptop with intel i3 and intel integrated graphics, but it seems that APU is better for games.

So which one is best out of these?

I have 2 friends with a pavilion (not too sure about the model but i5, 1GB 5650 AMD gpu (they have the older models), anyway, both of them overheat. 1 of them is so bad that is runs 80c idle. But on the other hand I have an envy 14 that runs fairly cool, gets in the low 80s for cpu and low 70s for gpu under heavy gaming.

But I would stay away from pavilion if I were you

I see, but what processor gives most performance?
The prices of these 3 laptops are basically same.

Will continue to search for more options tho. Seems that there isn't many choises from intel, since they don't have good gpus with their cheap laptops.

From what I've seen, Intel CPUs are better at things that are dependent on cores/threads and AMD APUs are better at graphics so I would say get an APU. Get the K53TA. It's about $500 I think at Best Buy. It comes with an A6 and a discrete so you can crossfire the APU's gfx chip and the discrete gpu chip. AMD states that it works so no need to worry.

I don't live in USA, so no best buys here But thanks anyway

But out of these 3 laptops I linked/wrote in OP, what would be the fastest - best performance? The prices are basically identical.

I suggest:
None of the above.

HP is going out of business.
That Acer is not good for gaming.
