Micro center usually lists their regular retail pricing, then they adjust it for launch--matching the competition. When Core 2, Phenom II, the first gen i7 920 all came out, this is how it worked.

No 4100 mentioned. Very consistent with an article I posted a couple weeks ago. Guess those guys got it right.

Could this be the one that comes with the watercooler? that was estimated to be about 300... which would explain how its 279 here rather than 245..

Expect the one with the watercooler around 330+

Microcenter usually matches Newegg pricing on CPU's. They also are pretty expensive on a lot of items in store, if you compare to online retailers. I build most of my systems from MC because I'm so impatient to wait 3 days shipping.

That's the price when it's official released. A couple months, special deals will be out. The actual *costs* of them are around $250 (8150, CDN, sourced in Ontario), but will be higher for retail price. The price I got are sourced from my close vendors.

I'd say it would retail at about $260-265.

Edit: The 8120 is near the price of a *retail* i5-2500/K.

Thread Starter
Back. The 4100 will indeed be sold at MC. For some reason home office added it in 24 hours after the other CPU's. Sadly I dont remember the price point.

Also we received all of the bulldozer CPU's in yesterday (tuesday afternoon), and they will promptly be ready for sales wed morning when we open at 10.

..The greedy floor sales people are coming in on their day off to push bulldozer CPU's and motherboards on wed, as they get commission from their sales (hence the sticker they put on all of your items..)

And yes we do price match listed prices.

As for pricing the CPU's are atleast marked up $30, as I can buy them with my employee discount for $30 less then retail, and my employee discount is supposed to be 'Store Cost +10%'

We also do not currently have the liquid cooled editions in, and im not sure when we will or if we will.

WOW, AMD stock is going to go right down the chute if thats MSRP pricing.

EDIT: Forgot to say thanks for info, OP repped.
