A version of Alchemy is included on the CD and it works quite well.
You can do a selective install of just alchemy if you wish.
The list of games that work with Alchemy are located here:http://connect.creativelabs.com/alchemy/Lists/Games/AllItems.aspx
For games that list their registry settings rather than their directory path, you will need some modifications if you are on a 64 bit operating system.
If you are on a 32 bit op system, you would have this for Call of Duty 2:
RegPath=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Call Of Duty 2\InstallPath
For a 64 bit operating system, you would have this additional change:
RegPath=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Activision\Call Of Duty 2\InstallPath
The game will be detected by Alchemy automatically if you have it installed before Alchemy is installed. Then you simply edit the entry with the Wow6432Node addition and it works perfectly.
I used ASUS' DS3D 2.5 and Auzentech's C-Media Xear 3d and they both sound terrible and hollow. Creative's Alchemy will give you the best sounding and most compatible choice for EAX games.
