lapped 3.6Ghz this is the barrier for my cpu i cannot push it more it is overheating almost 70-75 C i use water cooling D-tek fuzion v2. So it is best cpu i have ever, because of the extreme use for so many years in 24/7 100% load with this voltage. But this cpu has a lot of heat issue even lapped it is almost impossible to push it back to 40 C without other cooling solution.
I will push it more when my hybrid liquid cooling build, or not because i will sell it to friend of mine. and buy i7 one with hexa-core

Wow, surprised you even got to 3.6 with a B3. I couldn't imagine runnning that hot for that long. These older chips are beasts, can take a beating.

Thanks! Yeah, that's why I upgraded to the current mobo a year or so ago. My old board was no where near as good of an overclocker. My old board could only get me to an unstable 3.5. Definitely looking forward to where this board will get my chip to.

Then Intel Burn Test will make it touch 69-71C after a few minutes, but in GTA 4 and CS:S I've never seen it above 55C.

So I dunno. Maybe Intel Burn Test is just overkill. What settings are you using in Intel Burn Test?

Definitely not bad temps. Mine typically hovers around ambient. Intel Burn Test definitely sucks out every little bit of the processor. I have never had any of my daily programs get my hotter than IBT.

and forget to mention i break 2 mobo's already one was Asus Striker 2 NSE and my quad is strong then ever my current one is DFI and i use 2 fans to cool the mobo because it goes insane hot to almost 95 C on the PWM and almost 70 C on the Chipset

What kind of cooling do you have in mind? That's pretty darn impressive for a B3 chip.

Thanks, yeah, this thing has been a trooper. Definitely still does everything I ask of it. I wonder what would have happened for it to reset and stop working like that.

Swapped out heatsinks and reseated everything and I am back down to satisfactory temps for me. Dropped things back down since I don't need it at 3.8 all the time but still very happy knowing I can. haha.
