Need some new cans.

Thread Starter
I'm looking for some really good recommendations for new headphones. What I'll be doing with them:

1. Gaming. I play just about everything and this is what I'll be doing a good 75% of the time. So a decent soundstage for my FPS's is a must.

2. Music. As of late I have been listening to a lot of Electro-house/DnB/Dubstep so I definitely want something with kickin' bass.

3. Price. I'd PERFER If they were somewhere between 90-110$ (if you find a gem below 90 by all means let me know). My absolute max is $150.

Let me know if you need any other information and thanks in advance.

Also just a quick question. I found these: Audio Technica M50s on a few sites for about 159.99. I'm willing to wait a while for some extra change to afford these, but only if they're superior to the Ultrasones. Which one's the better buy?

No, the M50 has no soundstage, has bloated bass and just overall isn't a good deal once they've passed the $100 mark. The only reason the M50 is at the $160 mark is because all the disappointed Audio Technica AD700 people that were turned off by the lack of bass were recommended to buy those instead. Price then went up to where it is now. That is not where it should be.

Word. Rep for both of you! I'm going to order these later tonight, unless someone else has some excellent suggestions. I'm dying to get these. Thanks again.

Oh, on the note of studio style headphones, the Shure SRH840 is something to consider (going for $129 on Amazon).

This. Simca knows cans.

Though "kickin' bass" and decent soundstage are usually at odds with each other. If you really want both, you would probably need two sets of cans.

And if you "need some new cans" I'd suggest seeing a plastic surgeon! Har har. Sorry, it was too easy.
