Asus p8z68 assistance.

Thread Starter
Hey guys, was going into bios to get the 2500k oc'd to 4.0-4.2 and accidentally clicked on OC tuner as my hand slipped.... and it reset twice rebooted fine and looks as if i got a 4.2xx around 1.2 volts and a few quick stress tests only a few minutes lead to temps around 65-70 tops but it wasn't run long.

Here is the problem though I dont want it set by oc tuner I would rather do it myself and try to get an easy 4.0-4.1 or even 4.2 with temps a little lower. When ever I attempt to go into bios it hangs and the boot drive light stays on and nothing happens. If I let the computer reboot with out trying to go into bios it works fine.

I have not reset the CMOS or done anything yet. I also have not updated the Bios with the current one (if a new one is out). I am also not overly concerned, I would just like to do it myself and attempt to lower temp to around 65 if possible or drop to 4.0 -4.2 as im on the stock cooler at the moment.

Reset CMOS. Download BIOS into a flashdrive. Then boot into EZ-Flash utility under BIOS and flash the new BIOS ROM.

Until you get a better cooler, stay with 4.2 GHz for now. Hyper 212+/EVO is a very nice HSF that should have no problem getting you to 4.5 GHz.
