the PS3 has roughly the equivalent of a modified 7800GTX, called an RSX

My first card ever was a ASUS 5900 Ultra. I mainly played Star Wars Galaxies until it first went to ****.

On the plus side, the 6800GT is still better than pretty much any on board graphics out there.

I remember my X850 pro AGP that I had on my P4 rig, "back in the day" (lulz). I had unlocked and oc'd it into an X850 XT PE - 16 pipes! what a beast (yes i flashed it back so the fan worked). That got pretty warm, and yet it outlived the p4's ability to game (cpu limited in COH). I sold it on ebay to fund my x1950 pro crossfire purchase.

Opty series! I forgot they even existed. I do remember everyone being on a witch hunt for BH-5 ... I think I finally got some in some Team Xtreem RAM but they still weren't the best for OCing.

I remember when my Voodoo3 beasted Quake at 60 frames @800x600. Never had to get a new card until I got my FX 5700. Kept that until the 6800GT, then SLI'd 8800GTS. That Voodoo3 lasted me a long god damned time.

That Voodoo3 also owned up Thief 1 and 2, the original UT, and HL1. Good times.

I remember being absolutely blown away by the graphics in Doom 3, the Nalu demo and especially 3DMark05.

I kinda agree with Garnet, the steps forward since then have been significant, but nothing has ever really "wowed" me quite like going from my MX400 to my 6800GT.

Man I loved that card. I ran one basically from 2004 to 2008. I think that's actually the longest I've owned any single card to date.

haha I remember that. Doom 3 was like "holy ****" graphics.

Last card I had before my 4850 was a Geforce 6200 with 256mb, despite all the driver issues i had with that card, i was just happy to be able to play some games lol

4850 was my second card, now looking to replace this dinosaur

The first card i recognized was the geforce 3 with 64mb from a friend back in 2003, man was i stoked, then i got my hands on a radeon 9000 128mb. Could finally play half life 2 at more than medium settings and damn did it look great. Splinter Cell 1 looked fantastic back then. Then when i did my first own personal custom build from my brother, I went for the whopping 512mb 8500GT back in 2007. Now in 2009, with my own money, bought my Phenom II rig with a 5770 and its still going strong.
