Any word on how the Twin Frozr III's are? Which arent reference at all compared to those and the TF 2's.

Hmph. Such a shame... could you perhaps link me to posts/threads about other MSi GTX 570 mishaps? I had a similar case where I had a Sparkle GTS 250 back in the day that was on a 9800GTX+ PCB.

Ohh, and hmm, I wonder...

sneaky.gif

Kinda off topic but the 250 gts and the 9800 gtx+ were literally the same card just with the name changed.

In game, mostly Battlefield: Bad Company 2, I get severe artifacting, and ultimately, 0x124 BSODs. I've ruled out a bad CPU overclock. I originally had this problem with the latest Beta 285 drivers, and when I rolled back to v280 drivers, the problem went away. It has no re-reared its ugly head, and am now getting the same problems.

Tuesday (the day I have off from work) is going to be sad, as I'll have to take apart my rig and figure out which card is the problem, and RMA it back. I wonder if I complain hard enough, that MSi will do cross-shipping... they better... frown.gif

Good luck to you on the RMA.
Had a similar deal with my CHV board. Bought it new (7-3-11) and it worked for about three weeks; 7-23-11 was the day it went bad so I filed an RMA to Asus with it.
Got another board and it never got into the OS once, kept getting the USB overvolt error with it so sent that one back and they sent yet another.
That one worked (Finally!) but from the time I began the RMA until the time I got a useable board back was over 8 weeks (10-2-11).

I hope the first time is the charm for you man.

Here are some pictures.

I'm attempting to go through Newegg to RMA to obtain different cards. I'm very disappointed that this happened frown.gif.

A little update as well - I borrowed a buddy's GTX 580 he had laying around (he just upgraded to dual GTX 590s) and threw it into the machine. Works perfectly, no artifacts and no BSODs. Definitely the cards frown.gif. Unfortunately he sold the 580 so I currently am without a GPU while these are getting RMA'd. I hope Newegg_Support here on OCN will pull through for me.

This card goes on sale often on Newegg Open Box Deals. Now we know why biggrin.gif

Sigh, I hate RMAs. I hope everything ends well.

No reply from Newegg_Support, nor through Newegg_Support's personal Newegg email (I've dealt with him in the past and he was extremely helpful). So, since it's been a few days and I'd like to get these cards swapped as soon as possible, I went ahead and talked to a Newegg rep via live chat. In the end I cancelled out everything he was doing and decided to wait 24-36 more hours until either Newegg_Support gets back to me, or if not, I'll call and throw a fit.

If absolutely nothing else, I want a refund in advance, where I get my money back immediately, and have them give me a shipping label to ship the cards back afterwards. That way, as soon as I ship them off I can turn around and buy replacement cards. I'll also press for a coupon code for free shipping. I'm considering dropping the 2x GTX 570 setup for 2x GTX 560 Ti, but I'm not certain yet. I liked the power of the GTX 570s, I just hope I can find a decent pair, given that I won't have to pay bloody shipping after this whole catastrophe.

Super shady x9000. 570's on left-over 470 PCBs? You've got to be kidding me.

I have only had two MSI products in all my years of using computers. Both were HD 6990's and both died within days of being opened with the same problem, GPU2 would suddenly disappear and then the machine would crash and not boot again with the card installed. Lucky for me I bought it at a brick-and-mortar so I just went on back there and returned it.
