Phone Cases

So I got my SG2, and let me say I love it. It's perfect for me.
Wanting to protect said new romantic endeavor I've been looking into cases and am not sure what to decide on.
When you guys pick a phone case do you go for hard or soft cases?
Is there a specific brand that's better than others?
What do you look for?
How is this for my SG2?

Otterbox's are amazing. I've had them for two android phones, including my current one the Evo. The nice thing about them is that they provide a rubber grip which is incredibly helpful. You know all the times you try to pull your phone out of your pocket in a hurry, that it slips out of your hands? Well that pretty much never happens with otterbox cases. But the real perk of the otterbox is that it is combined with an outershell that helps withstand damage like dropping if you ever do drop it. With other silicone cases I've still have my phone damaged when I drop them or bang them against a table because the material can be penetrated with enough force and it leaves dents in the phone's body.

In my opinion, $24 of protection is cheap for a device that would cost $500 to replace if broken. If you feel safe spending $2 on a generic case, then by all means. But in my opinion a good case is worth the premium!

Super ugly I think the Otterbox looks much better.

Thank you all for the input!
It looks like I'll go with the otterbox then (though I don't mind the looks of the Ballistic case, the apparent extra bulk and extra price for similar "performance" push me away).
I've got the at&t sg2 which is supposed to be the same size as the international version, will that still work? I can't see any holes in the case that don't match up with my phone, but maybe I'm being deceived...

I go to here for all my phone protection needs.

Super high quality AND very stylish. They have a very unique brand of style that I have not seen elsewhere.

Their SG2 stuff is pretty rad.

I have 4 cases for my sgs2:

1.Taurus Aluminum bumper case - big, bulky, cool industrial look, does not interfere with signal strength dbm.

2.SGP Barely there - terrible, no screen protection when phone is face down,
fails to stay on when twisted even the slightest (in your pocket) clips off easily, will not do anything to protect your phone in a fall except snap off and send your phone in an unexpected trajectory
3.Affinity Galaxy S2 Shield - much better than SGP barely there, sides raised
so screen is protected while phone is faced down, grippy surface, overall the best case however the grippy surface makes it hard to put the phone in and out of pocket as it is quite a wide phone....
4.Generic Sylicone - good protection, looks like crap, hard to fit phone in and out of pocket due to grippyness

I don't use a case anymore, just screen protector. I try not to drop my phone.

Sigh so I got off the phone with Otterbox and they advised me not to buy their product for the at&t version. Girl I talked to didn't seem to know what she was talking about completely, but checked with someone else and they said the camera, microphone, etc. holes won't fit.
Now that I'm looking at these alternatives, it appears they all have the holes for the international version... Looks like I'll have to wait until the US SG2s have been out a while to pick up a case.

Edit: Ugh. And now that I've found a case that seems to be for the US at&t version, it appears to have the international version sitting inside.

This reaffirms original assumption that the international cases would fit with the at&t gs2. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Yeah, but if the international and at&t versions of the phone are interchangeable (as far as cases are concerned) I think I'd rather get an otterbox...the lady did say I could order one, try it out, and return it...
