[CVG] [Updated: Co-op] Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Confirmed

After months of rumours, the truth has come out.
Quote:
Mass Effect 3 multiplayer has finally been confirmed by Australian mag PC PowerPlay. "That's right - Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer!" proclaims the site.

Do we weep after ME2's lacklustre campaign (barring some rather good crew members), or do we celebrate it's entry as a Gears of War wannabe? I know I may be criticizing something that may be good, but [modern] Bioware doesn't have any track record in multiplayer games.

Here's the cover for the issue: PCPP197Cover.jpg

[UPDATE]: Casey Hudson confirms it's co-op:
Quote:
Yes, co-op MP missions for #ME3: they're real, and they're spectacular. Rest assured it's nothing of what you've feared. More soon...

"ME2's lacklustre campaign"? Whaaaaaaaaaaat? I think ME2's campaign was just fine.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't ruin The third. I doubt it would though. I've just got a bad feeling it's going to go down the lines of bioshock 2.

Will it have multiplayer campaign?

Or is this just Gears of War type MP?
I dunno about this.
I feel like the Mass Effect series has been a strong single-player experience, so far.
Hopefully, the time and effort needed to add multiplayer in the finale won't take away from the campagin. Conversely, hopefully they put enough time and effort into it to make it worthwhile. Whether or not it's any good, I'm sure the game will at least score an 80/100, overall. And, after playing the first two games, how can I not play the third?

Don't get me wrong, I love Mass Effect 2. But the overall plot was in shambles. -inserts every major complaint about the plot here-

The Collectors could have been better, and there was no sense of urgency. It felt like the world can wait, I can do ALL the sidequests first and upgrade what what. Wouldn't it have 'felt' better if a random event would happen at certain points, like another colony disappearing, a Reaper sighting. I'm talking out of my ass here, I have no idea how game development works or how it will pan out in ME3.

I hope it goes the way of AC: Brotherhood. Figuratively, I mean.

Magazine goes on sale October 19th, we'll know by then. I hope it wasn't delayed because of this.

It felt that way with that one DLC where you had to destroy the Mass Relay for the Reapers to hit Earth quicker. I was like, OH NOES!

Anyways, if it's LAN MP, I'm okay with playing Garrus.

And they said they weren't going to sell out. *pfft* Goodbye Bioware, Hello CD Projekt Red. wink.gif

DICE, and CD Projekt Red are all I'll ever need now. tongue.gif
