Frozr II or Frozr III? What's the benefits?

So how much of a performace increase do you get from the Frozr III over the Frozr II? There is nearly a $150 difference in the cards. Is the performance worth that $150?

Twin FrozR III's that aren't nVidia 570's appear to be labeled 'Hawk'

Compare below:

560Ti 'Hawk':
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-m...vi-i-mini-hdmi

560Ti Twin FrozR II:
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-m...ores-plusfree-

570 Twin FrozR III:
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1280m...r-1540mhz-plus

So, comparing a 560Ti TFII to a 560Ti Hawk shows that;
The Hawk has more luxury features, 950MHz core clock over 880MHz (TFII) it has a 1900MHz shader clock over the 1760 MHz of the TFII and has more chipset 'features'
Compare below:

HAWK (TFIII):
3D Vision Surround technology
DirectCompute Support
HDMI Output Support
Microsoft DirectX® 11
Microsoft Windows 7 support
NVIDIA CUDA™ Technology
NVIDIA nView Multi-Display Technology
NVIDIA PhysX™-Ready
NVIDIA Unified Driver Architecture
OpenCL Support
OpenGL 4.1
PureVideo HD
Shader Model 5.0

Twin FrozR II:
3D Vision Surround technology
Microsoft DirectX® 11
NVIDIA CUDA™ Technology
NVIDIA PhysX™-Ready
OpenGL 4.1
PureVideo HD

Although the clocks are higher on the Hawk, no doubt the TFII would reach those clocks with a little tweaking.

It depends on the cards in question. On some it's a bigger change that others. The 560ti it goes from no VRM heatsinks to with VRM heatsinks, and it adds another couple of powerphases. The 570 it adds additional powerphases which are much more important on that card, and for both cards the clocks are higher and the fans are slightly different.

Im not sure for the other cards, but on the GTX570 the TFIII has more power phases than reference design. It makes it one of the few 570's actually worth getting.

See that's whats making me wonder. I could buy the frozr III the price isnt much of an issue .. But is it worth the price difference. I plan on going SLI.

So is Frozr II just as good as the III minus a few options? with overclock do i reach the same performance?

I see you get about another 256 in memory and about another 150bits. does this equate to the $100-$150 price difference in perfromance. its frustrating. I want the performance for the dollar. Im not looking to buy 2 cards if the perfomance is in the less than 5%.

So wait? instead of the frozr III 570 should I be looking at getting an 580 instead?

First, which card are you looking at? If its a GTX570, then yes its worth the price difference.

yeah it would be the Twin Frozr III 570 .

I just can't let loose on a 580 price point. Im also looking to SLI them later.

If I'm not wrong, the Frozr III is for LN2 cooling with voltage mods already factory done
and frozr II is for a more aggressive overclock. The Frozr II is really much cooler and i've been able to OC it much higher than my HIS ice q 5 so yeah. If you ask me it's not worth it.

That's not correct at all. I outlined the differences fairly clearly above, but by no means does the TFII come with voltage mods from the factory.

OP in the case of the 570 (no that you've told us what card we are talking about) the TFIII is a much better model. We need to tell you what the prices are for both of them where you are to be able to tell you if it's worth the difference, but yes it's a much better model.
