Ordered AX650, received HX1050 - Page 3

Wow... That sucks. Really hard.
Will Corsair refund the drives and the data loss, in this case?

Sell the HX1050 as brand new never been used but in an AX650 box on here or somewhere and you'll probably make a profit of £20-£30 and then buy another one from that guy again. That way you might get a repeat happen again and you can make a little business out of it or you'll finally get the PSU you wanted and you'll have made a profit lol.

Hey sorry I read through the rest of the thread and it's not a funny situation in the end, I'm sorry for your loss of data and hope you can get everything replaced. I have an AX850 and I would hope nothing like this happens to me so I hear you.

I cannot sell it. I have already requested a replacement. I have got the AX650 and I must return the other one otherwise i will be charged.
I have a old laptop hdd (with many bad sectors), attached to all the other components. So far so good. It seems that only the two hdd were affected. I would rather had all the other components burnt and the hdd ok.
I am only thinking about the storage 500gb, it has not been connected till yesterday. I did it thinking that once the new PSU installed, to have it attached too.
There is any way to recover the data from this one?

I don't know about the data recovery part, but Corsair got excellent customer support as AMDrocks mentions.
I am almost 100% sure that they will pay for new hardware if it is the PSUs fault.
There have been people who bought an H50, which leaked and ruined all their hardware in the case, Corsair gave them money to buy everything that had been destroyed.

I would suggest posting the recovery enquiry in the HDD section and someone who knows about data recovery has more chance of seeing it and helping you there.

contact corsair ASAP about the data loss and the PSU blowing up

they should give you the cost to buy back whatever was damaged due to their product failing; like the time where someone modded his H50 and made it leak and corsair replaced everythign for him

I'm surprised mine hasn't then, if quite a few have been "blowing up".

Kind of lame they gave you an HX model instead of a different AX model.

If you mod an H50, your warranty is voided (i think the only mod you can do tpo them that is backed up is lapping the cold plate). If one leaks and it was unmodded, they will replace the stuff.

I'd contact them. At least they can give you a replacement or refund of the parts you lost.

I have tried to contact Corsair Support Centre, even I did RAM online, it’s been three working days and no answer. I also sent around 7 emails regarding this matter, but nothing.
I will send back to amazon for refund, is the easiest way to get rid of this BOMB.
Very poor or inexistent help from Corsair.
