Want to re-format my ssd

Thread Starter
I know you're not suppose to defrag an ssd but when it comes to re-formatting one is there something I need to know, some special trick to it. Been having a few "glitches" here and there since I installed another WD caviar Black and I also want to remove Bad company 2 and MoH from my ssd and put them on the Caviar Black and only run BF3 on the SSD when it is released. I figure a freshly formatted pc would be a nice start. Just wanted some "professional" opinions before i go ahead and format.

Thanks.

Not as far as i'm aware, since you have the vertex 2 i'd just make sure you put it on the intel controller on your motherboard and have ACHI enabled so it can trim the drive when you rebuild the OS.

Dude, you built a PC, that's technical whether you think so or not. You've done very well so far with a well spec'ed machine and it's obviously working well.

But yes, put the SSD on your Intel controller (not sure if you have a marvell controller on that board) and let trim do it's work for 10 minutes after you've installed everything and updated all your packages
