True. 20% is too generous.

The 3700k looks to be 77W though with the IGP turned on, compared to the 2600k's 95W without it (I believe it's without it).

So 25+% less wattage (depending on how the IGP thing figures into it) required for the same clock speeds, but with the same die area.

Now you gotta figure exponentially diminishing returns and all that good stuff of course.

I recall SB being limited to 5.9 GHz though (x59 multi) no? Ivy is limited to x63, but I'm pretty sure they have variable BCLK settings for Ivy which means we don't really know what it can be clocked to (on liquid helium or whatever).

57x multi, but it takes a good chip to hit that under LN2 and an even better one to get higher using small bclk OCs, even ones that should work fine on any board.
