How to quickly reset CMOS on ASUS Sabertooth 990FX!

This is just some useful information for all Sabertooth 990FX owners!

As you will be well aware there is no on-board button to reset the CMOS quickly and easily, which can be a complete pain for overclockers! What we haven't realised is that, in fact, there actually is. This trick I discovered is simple; use the MemOK button! This is a button in the top right corner of the board!

Simply push and hold this button until the near-by memory LED begins to flash, once the LED is flashing release the button, the computer will restart and all settings will be set to their default safe settings!

I hope this info can be of use to somebody!

You are aware that that is the sole purpose of the memok! button and that is one of the advertised features of that board and most all new Asus boards.

Well, it's advertised to make your memory ok, and not to reset your UEFI, no?

That was why I brought it up, it is advertised to ensure that your memory runs stably, but it does so by resetting ALL settings to default, thus making it useful for ensuring everything else runs stably as well!

I have the first 990fx and didn't now that so I am grateful for your post on this I can build a system but understanding the sub setting not so much. and thank's for the post

that don't really work that way...it doesn't reset all your settings

try it out and see for yourself.

I will have a go when I next dive inside of it if it work nice one if not I will use the jumper on the board but I got to wate to get a nether copy of 7 as they are telling me that my copy is a dud . I will go to p.c.would and get one over the counter.

HA! Good to know. I didnt know that it was for anything other than memory either. Ive been using the stupid jumper to clear my CMOS. I only have to do it about once every few months or so when I try to push the CPU/NB a little too far but I never can remember where that stupid jumper is. LOL! Thanks! +1 Rep.
