Getting Micro stuttering In BF3

Thread Starter
I don't notice it in any other game so is this a driver issue? I also notice that changing settings doesn't do a whole lot when it comes to fps. I'm averaging around 40fps outside on both metro and Caspian with Xfire 6950's and Eyefinity. Which isn't bad but the micro stutter that comes and goes is hurting my eyes. LOL BFBC2 plays so smooth completely maxed out with 8xAA and 16xAF in eyefinity. Could be a Crossfire problem in BF3 because while outside if I use one card i get about 35fps and no microstuttering but when i turn on crossfire i get 40-45fps average and off and on microstuttering.

Any Ideas?

It's a beta with beta drivers.

Wait for retail game + better optimized drivers.

Your CPU is probably choking up. Play it with CFX on while running Afterburner and Task Manager in the background.

I suspect that your CPU maxes out a core or two and your GPU usage drops during these stutters.

Caspian Border isn't friendly to the CPU and your Phenom II is slow as dirt for dual-GPUs.

I also get microstuttering and I'm running an i7 970 at 4.1GHz. I think it's definitely a driver issue. It happens with both Catalyst 11.8 and 11.10 preview 2. It seems like this only happens in Caspian Border, though. Performance in Operation Metro is quite good.

I've also experienced this with my 450, I figured it was my old drivers that i was just too lazy to grab the newer ones for my card, I mean every time i booted up the beta it told me incompatible driver, but It still played decent anyways lol.

I'm running eyefinity so my gpu's aren't being severly bottlenecked!

You have a Phenom. That's a bottleneck.

Not sure if that's why you're getting the stuttering but I think it should be something to check out as I have described above.

This, plus I was getting crazy yellow/white flashes randomly. I'm guessing it will be sorted out by the 25th or soon after.
