^ JFC. the fact is water is 20x more thermally conductive than air. so for a CPU, buffering heat into water is like laying down on a very soft mattress instead of concrete. bad analogy but you get the idea, its a much softer landing in terms of thermodynamics. so if you compare rise and fall of cpu temps - air vs water - on a chart, the peaks and valleys aren't as pronounced, nor as abrupt. remember it's no accident that just about all modern car engines are cooled by liquid flowing through a radiator.

intel bundling an asetek sealed WC is Intel being in tune with and bandwagon jumping a larger phenomenon which is the market for sealed, plug and play, maintenance free watercooling for $50 growing at a very fast rate. while watercooling itself is nothing new, historically its been a PITA when custom loops were the only option, and its good to see this segment really gaining steam. YES custom water will still be superior, but not necessarily forever, and we have to remember to put a pricetag on our free time, its a precious and limited commodity.

If it were to ever spring a leak at least the cpu would still be covered under their warranty. If you use a Corsair or any other aftermarket branded cooler you void your warranty don't you? Then again, overclocking voids it too I imagine, so I guess this community wouldn't care much hehe.

if a leak happens the last component to be effected is the CPU.

Has Intel stated what the TDP for LGA 2011 CPUs will be? Will the TDP be back up to 130W like LGA 1366?
