LED fan power and bulgin switch question

Hi all,

I've bought a caselabs case for a new build, to play around with, experiment and have some fun. I didn't realize I'd be consumed by modding more and more of it while taking it apart but, I have.

I removed two bulgin switches to sleeve and after looking at the backs, thought well ***** this doesn't look so complicated. I've learned a little while poking around on the net but still know basically nothing about wiring and wanted to see if I could get an explanation here and mb some pointers.

I want to put some LED fans in my case and then add some more bulgin switches to the front panel, one to control the LED portion of some of those fans, mb one for a cold cathode, I dunno.

Anyway, I'd like to know what it takes to split off the LED portion from the fan portion so that I can control the LED with the switch and the power/speed with the controller. Obviously, I'd like to have the option of fan on, but light off.

I don't know which fans I want to use yet but I'm betting that once I take the label off things will become clearer. My assumption is that I just split off the LED wiring, splice them into another similar configuration and hook that up to the switch in a normally closed or open wiring as I want? I can't imagine it's that complicated, but what's the real story? Can anyone give me some direction?

Splitting the led and fan to separate switches might be difficult. it looks like most fans have the leds wired to the main board. this is a problem mainly because it is rather difficult to remove the fan board without destroying the plastic housing and even if you managed to remove the board you would have to use a dropping resistor for the leds. It would probably be easier to make the led fans your self. just take a translucent fan and drill 4 holes in the side of the outer housing then glue in component leds. If you really want to make led fans private message me and I can do one of these conversions and sent you the pictures.
