Looking for a soundcard

Hey guys!
So here's the deal, atm i don't have any soundcard apart from the onboard one and i'm in need of some kind of direction from you, more experienced audiophiles, on what to buy!

Either it is a soundcard alone or soundcard+amp etc., i'm looking for something to go along with my Sennheiser HD650 so i can enjoy it at the fullest.

My usage "definition" falls somewhere in between this categories:

Quote:
THE I WANT IT ALL-ER
50% Music 50% Gaming
Quote:
THE MUSIC LOVER
Music 70%+ Gaming/Movies/Other 30%-
In terms of budget i'd rather not go over $200, which doesn't mean that i need to spend it all. I'm just looking for something good, really worth the money!

Appreciate any help/tips you can give me!

"I'd go so far as to suggest the Xonar DX offers the best combination of features, performance, and value of any desktop PC sound card on the market."

I heard the zonars don't do great with the frostbite engine, if you play bf, not sure though. I just bought a refurbished x-fi xtremegamer for $20 my self :-)

Was on 15-min smoke break at work.

I'll post threads if I can find them. I've "read" several case's where the Zonar d(x) was terrible for frostbite engine games, or at least BC2, when I was debating on getting a sound card for myself. I don't have any personal experience with the Zonar though.

if i'd go for a Creative X-Fi Titanium HD, do you think getting an amp to use with the HD650 would be worth it? or the soundcard alone will do the trick?
