Question regarding Artic Silver 5 TIM

Thread Starter
I have had this stuff laying around my desk area for about 1 year now.

1. Arctic Silver 5 compound
2. Arctic Clean Surface Purifier
3. Arctic Clean material remover.

Now is this stuff still good after being sitting around the room for going on a year? Temp been pretty good year round. All havent been left in any direct sunlight or nothing like that. Just wanna save some money

Was going to apply this stuff on my GTX 580 Block and CPU block

Since you haven't left it in direct sunlight (and maybe kept the rubber tip on it), it should be just fine

Artic Silver 5 is electrically conductive and may break your card.

I use MX-4. Great stuff with no curing time.

its not electrically conductive, but rather electrically capacitive. Big difference.

Anyway, to answer your question: Yes, it should be perfectly fine so long as it hasn't dried out.

AS5 is a bad idea on a GPU. MX-2/4 is pretty good.

If you're careless enough to spill it over where it's not supposed to be, maybe.

Get some MX-4 and use that.
