A new 1366 i7 which one ?

Thread Starter
Hi all i just bought a new Mobo Asus P6T7 WS SuperComputer and a new Thermaltake 1500W PSU it is a real beast for my 4 x gtx 295

and i need a i7 1366lga cpu. i was think of i7 980 or i7 970 or i7 980x i need to be a hexa-core because it will do SETI@HOME and other BOINC projects.

My question is which one will be the best price to ratio performance. and the best overcloking one with my hybrid water cooling solution ?

Thank You For Your Time.

Go for the 980. nearly same price as the 970. 980x is way to expensive.

I love my 980, it's not the extreme model.

First you mean 2 gtx 295's also I would go for the 970 if you have the cash other wise microcenter sells the 960 for 199 so you cant go wrong there.

^no he means 4x gtx295s >.>

For best performance vs cost a 980x would be best. Unless you can find a cheap 970.

Hopefully the price of the 980 will drop soon. In november the new sandy bridge E processors drop with quad channel memory. The 6 core 3930K is estimated to retail for $583. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Bridge

pfu 980x is quite expensive almost 700-800$ that i was considering 980 i see some reviews on the 970 it fell down to overclocking.
yes i mean 4 x GTX 295 Water Cooling all i use only 15 gallons of liquid . but i need to reconsider it because i use only 2 of the gtx cards when i install the new mobo will install the other 2 and the temperature of the water with the only 2 gtx and the quad is really hottttt i need to install more Radiators or just move my 3x120 radiator and liquid outside and let the force of the winter to cool it down before build my hybrid cooling after the winter
